Playing upright, electric, fretless, and midi bass, Alana Rocklin is known for her relentless groove.  Alana is currently touring with My Morning Jacket frontman, Jim James in support of his solo album “Regions of Light and Sound of God”. She is also the official bassist for multi-platinum/grammy winning producers the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, appearing on Rick Ross' Grammy nominated 2012 release "God Forgives I Don't", alongside Rick Ross, Neyo and Andre 3000. Artists she has recently recorded and/or toured with include: Jim James, Rick Ross, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Andre 3000, Neyo, Elle Varner, Just Blaze, Ludacris, Anita Baker, Alicia Keys, Jeff Coffin, Nanci Griffith, John Oates, Zigaboo Modeliste, Ben Sollee, Casey Dreissen, Love and Theft, Abigail Washburn, Bela Fleck, JD Souther, Roy "Futureman" Wooten, Victor Wooten, Tommy Simms, Suzy Bogguss and many, many more. She has appeared on several national and international t.v. and radio programs including: Austin City Limits, The Late Show w/David Letterman, MTV, VH1, Palladia, Bluegrass Underground, Grand Ole Opry, Praire Home Companion, Fox & Friends, Studio Jams, World Cafe, Goodmorning New York, and many more. Together, Alana and Brad Bowden are the creative entity known as sub-ID and released their critically acclaimed debut album "BFF" (1320 Records) in 2008. They have opened several tours for STS9, including playing to a sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater and have also opened for The Pharcyde, Tortoise, Richard Devine, Telefon Tel-Aviv, Bassnectar and more.  In addition to sub-ID, Alana and Brad's company newpolyphony productions, have produced award winning, critically acclaimed plug-ins for Native Instruments and Toontrack. Newpolyphony has also worked with: J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Lupe Fiasco, Needlz, STS9, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Richard Devine, Abelton, Roy "Futureman" Wooten, CMT, and more.
